Best British Wimbledon ever

For me 2013 rates as the best Wimbledon ever, even though I slept through a set of Andy's victory consequences of a bit of sunstroke as a result of watching an U11 football tournament all morning.

Obviously as a Brit I am biased but the best entertainment of what is turning into a "storming" festival of tennis seems to have had a Union Jack flavour.

A great shame that Jay and Marcus's fabulous giant killing run has come to an end but their performance along with Mr Muller's classic victory yesterday are so far the highlights for me. Even Mr Muller's spectacular performance, the master piece of one of the, if not the finest, autumnal career has the hand of a certain Mr Delgado written all over it.

2017 is stacking up nicely to rival 2013 with a broad British presence in the second week, not wanting to jinx what I consider the less significant singles events where we still have minor chances. We dare to dream but I will leave that there.

But my goodness let's focus on the main event, I don't think we have ever looked so strong in the mixed doubles. I can't even bring myself to whisper it but could the finale have a British presence maybe even winner for two consecutive years.

For me personally this has been the most exciting with brits doing so well in the doubles and marcus kindly getting me a coaches pass this year gave me a unique behind the scenes insight . Naturally very proud of his run and indeed the 2013 Andy Murray victory

Best moment so far (even though I didn't see it live) has to be Marcus/Jay beating Mahut/PHH. This might be surpassed though if Ken/Neal go much further. Ken has on several occasions sorted me out with a "backstage pass" and as Gary says, it's great to get a different insight to the various tournaments. So I am really hoping Ken/Neal can do a Neilsen/Marray, but even if they just close out their current match, a QF would still be an unbelievable achievement.

Now marcus is out be keen to get along and support the skupski's love to emulate their performance and attitude with an A1 sponsored pair . Watched them against Scott & Johnny and Neal was much improved

Gary, Bob, I don't think it can be said you haven't earnt the opportunities you have had to see British tennis at its best from an inside perspective given your unstinting enthusiasm for British Tennis.
