In the doubles main draw, I noticed that Kyle Edmund is playing with Joao Sousa ATP Doubles222(POR). They've played together once before (& lost). Could Kyle have helped a fellow Brit get into the main draw & have an opportunity of making some money??

Not directly. Sousa is in on his singles ranking, not his doubles ranking. No GB player who didn't get a WC has a singles/doubles ranking high enough to get in combined with Edmund's singles ranking - so it would have to have been via a WC.

Yes, after evidently not being prepared to WC Salisbury & O'Hare as a pair it would have been very questionable to WC Edmund & Sousa. But as they are directly in on their singles rankings fair enough.

Good set of draws really again. No seeds for the WCs. Shame that Skupskis and Joe and Brydan have been drawn together yet again but it happens.

Very bad draw for Dom.

Can't believe that Joe/Brydan play the Skups again. Every time Joe gets into a main ATP event he seems to get a bum draw! Hope it's Joe and Brydan this time.
A winnable match for Jay and doubles specialist Marcus. I believe they can be a match for anybody.

Is it a 'bum draw' for Joe? I know the Skupski's have had some decent results on grass, but considering it's a grand slam drawing another WC pairing isn't too bad, think it's a winnable match for Joe and Brydan.

Totally agree, I was thinking more along the lines that there are easier draws they could have had and Joe is due an easier one.   Also miffed we'll lose some Brits early on.

Marcus & Jay are pretty much a scratch pair played only 2  or 3 matches  together they apparently lost 6-2 6-2 to jonny omara & Scott Clayton who are definitely a concern for me as they will be arguably the strongest pair at the national club team finals 8-10/9/2017 although both A1 Pharmaceuticals and Raynes park still have to qualify on 23/7 They were winners and RU for last 2 years . Marcus is normally a banker for the doubles rubber but Johnny & Scott look formidable

Top class doubles free for spectators at national Aegon club team finals 8-10/9/2017 west Hants club /Bournemouth

I estimate that there's will be over 16 ATP ranked and former ranked players in the finals including marcus willis , neil pauffley , Matt short , Robbie Ridout , toby martin , peter Bothwell , Scott Clayton , Johnny Omara , josh Goodall , tom faquarson , joe Salisbury , Evan Hoyt , chris Lewis , Richard gabb , Jamie baker , james cluskey , Lewis burton and it's free for spectators

As a team captain I dislike playing scratch pairs at any level seems unfair to me that joe Salisbury has to play with klein rather than o'hare who he has regularly partnered with

For a scratch pair they did well at Ilkley, only 2 points away from the semis in Ilkley having taken out the number 2 seeds impressively. Jay was very successful in juniors in doubles and we all know the qualities of Marcus on the doubles court. Agree Jonny and Scott are exceptional for a doubles pairing, very impressive in defeat at Notts.

Mixed doubles entry closes shortly - lots of British interest. Both Skupski's, Brydan and Harriet, the Broady's, Lloyd and Katie B - and of special note Jamie Murray with Matina Hingis, and Hev is signed up with Henri to defend their title.

I had wondered if Bambo had been provisionally offered a mixed dubs WC - and told them where to stick it.....
