relatively weak field compared to Surbiton and those currently in Ilkley. Presumably all 4 WC's will go to Brits next week however.

Marcus was forced to withdraw with a stomach bug.

Just saw Marcus' tweet wondered why he wasn't there. Looking at the draw it a shame that Ward, Corrie and Glasspool are all in the same 1/4. That section is probably our best chance of a qualifier.

Top quarter of draw, Saville and Ebden know their way around grass, cant see a Brit getting far there. Qtr 2, Groth and Quiroz similarly, tough draw for Jonny. Qtr3 not quite as hot a section, two Aussies again and Smith is quite a strong grass courter. Cant see anyone making it through that group either from GB. Qtr4 looks most interesting - most of our top players in this event are in this section and you never know. If Ed gets through Bolt, he might be able to play through McDonald or James Ward, fancy one of the Brits coming through this section.

Quite surprising that unranked and lowly ranked players such as Curtis and Sean can get into Challenger qualifying without a WC.

And who is Daniel Berrett????

Very pleased to see such a good handful of young players giving it a go.

Courtes of a Mr Patrick Howe on Twitter.

It's Daniel Bennett. It's been incorrectly spelt. Dan is from Sunderland. Represented GB as a junior. Now 19 years old.

Thanks, Bob. And Mr Howe smile

Yes, I recognise the name of Dan Bennett - from a British Tour event maybe?

Least that makes a bit more sense.....
