So, it seems Andy and Novak and others approve of a revolutionary new idea by Gerard Piqué to start a new World Cup of tennis to take the place of (or just overtake the place of) the Davis Cup:
The old World Team Cup in Dusseldorf never worked in the long run. It seems strange that players like Murray support the concept here in principle but value the home and away aspects of Davis cup. Only solution is to have both events and surely that can't work in the long run?

I gave up long ago trying to work out any logical connection between statements made by any given tennis player on different days (sometimes even the same day) - they're extremely good at playing sport, no idea why anyone ever expects them to make much sense on the organisational aspects of their sport or any other subject, though some of them (including Andy) do manage it once in a blue moon.
