4 losses in a row since that excellent Q+QF run in Guadalajara (counting the QF loss there as no. 1) but he has taken a set in each of them.
Weber appears to have been at college in the US but didn't start there until he was 21, having spent time at university in France before that. He played his first Futures match only two months ago at the age of 24 so may well be headed for a significantly higher ranking than he has at present.

You could almost laugh - poor Scott could hardly win a British Tour R1 qualifier match - gets drawn against a top-500 player - and then gets a win by retirement.
Hope Hugo's OK - but it's nice for Scott - and maybe this will get the monkey off his back.

That may well be true, Steven. And you may be being gracious and generous (which is a good thing!).
But Weber did lose in qualifying in the previous three ITFs, only made R1 of the one before in Indonesia (although did make the QFs in his first one).
It's hardly stellar....although maybe he took this 'home opportunity' to really get going :(
