One can imagine the conversations around qualies for this tournament.
Coach: "I've got good news and bad news. The good news is that your next opponent is an unranked 45 year old."
Player: "And the bad news?"
Coach: "It's Younes El Aynaoui"
He's also in the doubles, but on the opposite side of the draw.

And a wild card to boot! I noticed earlier that he'd qualified.
Haha yeah good to see Younes here! Still playing good but obviously a little rusty as maybe expected. He just went down right now I believe. Super nice guy
Thank you! It's good to have the 'on the ground' perspective - and to know that he's a nice person, as well as a good player. Commiserations on your draw - good to see that you ran the second seeds close. And all the best for future matches.
No problem! Most of the teams here are strong, so not really any bad luck! We have to be good enough to beat any of the teams in the end. And yeah we were very close, had the upper hand most of the second set, and were up 4-2 but to their credit they played two amazing games to break back and then break again at 5-5. Enjoyed the match despite the loss. Onto next week
