I plan to be on site Monday and Tuesday
i've seen all the GB girls in qualifying bar Laura S, Dominique, Ella and Alicia hence why i plan to go to Shrewsbury tomorrow.
Olivia Nicholls seems to have one of the re-allocated wildcards - Beth might have sneaked in directly as well (ITF site has removed her and Maia's wildcard)
Laura Deigman and Eleanor Dean have wildcards, plus two more Beth and Olivia (probably)- unless Beth sneaked, then I haven't a clue who else got a wildcard.
Since Stadler is Q1. both Beth and Maia must have made the main draw. And Anna Popescue has made qualis from being 6th alt.
Since the next player to Beth on the list ( Primorac ) is also in the qualifying draw as the q2 seed, in theory Beth could have been top of the qualifying list if she had no WC and so still required her MD WC. However, yes, the fact that as paulisi says the ITF have removed reference to MD WCs for both Maia and Beth does suggest that neither was required. With Laura D and Eleanor having two of the WCs Olivia Nicholls seems indeed to be the only clear qualifying absentee as a possible beneficiary. Maybe a break for a good youngster?
Worth putting in the stats that the French girl was top 300 when age 20 (18 months ago).
One of the big 'stars' of French tennis as a junior too, (had a WC into the MD doubles, at Roland Garros last year).
From Corsica, I believe.
This is her first tournament since last September, not sure why, injury, I presume. Although her results hadn't been great for a little while. But she's got a certain pedigree (although the only time I saw her play it wasn't that impressive). Will be interesting to see how she and Jodie match up.
