Yes, this is the 13 in the top 400 Indy mentioned in another thread... And now that green line of Fran can be projected one week further, when she will go ahead of all three of those players just ahead of her, unless one of them has a big week in turn next week (Gabi alone has to reach the Ilkley SF to stay ahead of Fran).

Well done team GB!

Sad to see Croatia and Hungary drop out of the ranking list though

Things will change again of course come August, when the list of countries with 10+ will expand again.

For next week GB is mildly positive at the moment, thanks to Fran! She comes into the top 10, +43 over Gabi's position for last week, with Harriet, Jodie and Katy D all -10+. Harriet can do something about that if she can manage a good win, but other than Jo think it's likely to be tough this week to gain many wins (and points).

With Fran coming in at a fair bit stronger #10 than Gabi next week and Katie B up a few places so far our live figure for 24/06 ( from OER ) is 1929.

Unlikely to beat the elusive 1900 mark this coming Monday although our total race figure on 17/06 was 1897.

The mood music in parts of the forum may be far from good and there's undoubtably lots that could have been going better but we still have a historically good group of  relatively younger players, certainly in numbers, who aren't likely to disappear plus now Jodie and Fran having pushed on, Naiktha come on board, and Emma hopefully to come.

If rather more things can fall into place than have done so far this year, some push on again and particularly say less injuries, the next few years should surely be worth following much more than just about all my time following GB women's tennis and I would think new GB highs for our top 10 total will be achieved.

Yes, it doesn't quite feel like that just at the moment and that probably is due to the amount of injuries we've had in this group this year, as you say. Particularly with Katie B being out, meaning we've only had Jo in the top 100 and performing in most WTA events, with Harriet also playing relatively little since her promising early year start, and Katie S also being missing for a while. Then Gabi of course had the opposite start to her year than she did last year, and behind it's now Fran has started to get going.. just as Jodie gets injured again.

But yes gradually the gloom does seem to be lifting, and it will be good to have Emma back soon, it's been great to see some resurgence from Sam, Mandy is also beginning to creep up steadily on the outside rails, and EWS has begun to have some stellar doubles performances at least. At least the numbers are there more than the men in this kind of middle cohort at the moment. Let's hope it continues.

Both the mens and womens top 10 are now in 12th place overall, which I think is pretty good overall. Although we clearly have weaknesses on both sides (mens side is being bolstered clearly by Andy being in the list and this will change in the near future I guess) it will be interesting to see how we compare when the rankings structure is rejigged in August and we start to see ITF M25 and M15/W15 events start to get counted back in again

We had a couple of weeks higher close together last year. The best from certainly as far back last century as blob went was 1901 on 18/06 and then we had 1906 on 02/07.

Hence my fairly ongoing refrain that things overall are not so bad despite disappointments, injury and form, maybe seeming to be worse by so much involving the younger group that pushed on so well last year and being talked about quite a lot  This year though, such as Jodie and Maia and now Fran have reached new personal heights. Great to see Jo's top level reemergence too although this has less effect on our average. I did blink at one quote of "annus horribilis".

But now with Katie B confirmed out of at least Wimbledon and big points to defend, along with some others, it will get tougher to get under 1900 in the relatively short term.

But going forward over the next few years players can push on again and in general we are well set up for new heights for our "strongest nation" figure with the age distribution within our top 10 and indeed challenging our top 10 a bit more at the moment, with for instance now 13 in the top 400.

Apologies, as I realise how much I am repeating myself from above just a few days ago.

Sadly over-optimistic with this prediction (bold?) GBR at 1941 up a bit, due to me counting the whole of Frans rise rather than the gain over previous #10 Gabi. disbelief

Yay, Paul Jubb, now on a live 21 points after beating Istomin in Eastbourne, will displace Alex Ward ( 20 points ) from #10. Prospects must be good that over the coming months he can push on to quite a lot higher points than the 30 points that Alex held the #10 position with for a long time. Next ahead currently is #9 Brydan on 66 points. Brydan is live WR 354, close on 100 places ahead of Paul's new mark which should be around WR 450. So hopefully Paul can indeed push up that #10 ranking much further and with it our overall top 10 score.

Alex W is down 40 but still at #10. I think it will be Lloyd or Evan that relaces him - especially when the ITF points kick in on 05/08.

Of course, it would appear that way, but good to see a few guys starting to make a move on the top 500.

Evan H is the OER #10 for 05/08 - but  I've checked some of the womens figures for the same date and they don't seem to add up confuse

Time will tell smile

i tried to register to see the 05/08 ranks but it denied me and suggested they werent taking new members...

D0n't register - they will sell your e-mail adress on - and then you'll have spam.- and don't put in any personal details.
