Re the GB women, updating my post from 10/12 to the end of year 29/12 rankings:
"Certainly building / rebuilding would be good to see. For our women are actually over 200 below their best total, 1526 at 23/06/25 for then position #9. That is largely due to drops since then of 121 places for Heather and 97 places for Jodie. They also totalled 1593 at the end of last year so it's been far from vintage overall looking at our total.
Our largest riser from these within our top 10 over all that period has been Mimi, up 84 places. Before I upset any Katie S fans, I acknowledge that she has risen no less than 477 places since 23/06 to re-enter our top 10 at #10 / WR 276.but that has for now little effect on our top 10 total - she has replaced Marni WR 268 at 23/06 and with our current #11 not too far back, Mika WR 294.
Hopefully Mimi and Katie S ( and maybe Mika - though she has done so well to be inside the top 300 still short of her 17th birthday ) will continue to make real strides in 2026. Hopefully also Jodie can get much more back on track, and Hannah should rise but, like Mika, that may be limited to an extent for now regarding a really high impactful ranking. I have iess expectation of a really significant Heather recovery, great that that would be."
Re the GB men, uodating my post from 10/12 to the end of year 29/22 rankings:
"Looking at our latest men's total of 1313, that is much more in touch with their best total, 1258 at 29/01/24, and up no less than 394 since the end of last year, 1707 at 30/12/24.
The biggest risers from the 7 players within our top 10 over the whole year have been Jay up 89 places and Jan up 48. The biggest impact though has been from the 3 who have soared into our top 10 - Arthur up 294 places this year to WR 189, Oliver up 203 places to WR 200, and Jack PJ up 173 places to WR 203, and how their cumulative rankings compare with the end of 2024 rankings of the 3 no longer in our top 10 ( Paul, Charles and Kyle ).
Combining these top 10 strongest nation moves ( while our top 3 remain the same with cumulatively much the same rankings ) with, as discussed elsewhere, big moves beyond our top 10, and now you are talking a vintage year.
Let's hope for at least a decent amount of similar in 2026."
