This is actually the first time Samuel Beddow has qualified for a singles main draw in 41 attempts stretching back nearly 5 years, so well done to him for finally getting there
He is also into a 3rd set against Roca, though he is a break down in the decider - 4-6 6-3 *0-3

Samuel may never reach the heights of Andy Murray in the rankings, but when it comes to tenacity, determination and a never give up approach, he is right up there. Congrats Samuel. I hope that the fact it has taken so long in coming, just makes the moment all the sweeter.
They did a story for some publication (can't remember which) a while ago on getting that first elusive point - and how much it meant to the players involved. Hope that Mr Beddow enjoys it!
And what's so good for the men is that he can now relax, knowing he's going to be ranked for the next whole 12 months.
(It always seems such a shame for the women who struggle and finally get their third counter, only to have their first one come off a couple of weeks later, and fall back out the rankings again)
