Fran will be ranked fairly shortly and is performing outstandingly over recent months for just 16.

I fully expect Fran to qualify and with a decent draw, pick up some more points.

Fran is certainly a star. There's a film in the making with her story....

Yes - fingers/hand, toes,/feet, palate, - some genetic condition that causes a deformity in the bony extremeties.

After lots and lots of operations, she now has only three fingers on one hand and three toes on one of her feet. Major problems for balance and grip.

I'm pretty sure it's only her second.

But I haven't checked.

Very pleased for her, though. Nice girl. And nice game.

It's true that her opponent here (and the week before in R1) were the result of quite a kind draw.

But I'm sure Nadia's trainer was thrilled with the draw too, telling her that Alice was an unknown 18 year-old with no pedigree on paper, in either adult or juniors (really).

So well done again, Alice !

  Only her second counter as CD says. Stephen has her on his records with a counter from Sheffield which I included but this is incorrect. She had a counter here last week and this one so only two.
