Hmm, I'd been wondering if Jay might squeeze into the MD. As it is we apparently have a host of late entries into qualifying ( including Dan ) and he's seeded just 7th ( at least still a seeded to qualify spot although in bracket with q9 ).

Yes. It's daft. He was third out of main draw when I last looked. And it seems, as you say, that there's been a flood of late entries.
Are they simply thrilled to see Turkey back?
Or has Turkey actually been offering incentives to get some higher players to come, to boost their standing, coz they're worried they've been a long time out and need to re-establish a presence?
No problem either way but it's certainly made a bit of a mess of the normal quali draws and acceptance lists.
Some decent scores against better ranked players (with even better CH rankings). And congrats to the juniors for taking part. But, net net, only Jay is through to the FQR.
QR2:
Andrew RUPPLI (SUI) [q10] WR 1272 (CH 1154 in July) def. Adam JONES (GBR) UNR (age 18, born 1998) 3-6 6-2 6-3
Bastian PARADA (CHI) def. Daniel COX (GBR) [q4] Walkover
Vladimir UZHYLOVSKY (UKR) [q5] WR 729 (CH 492 April '13) def. Alexander JHUN (GBR) WR 1532 (CH 1034 in Feb) 5-7 6-0 6-1
Kevin GRIEKSPOOR (NED) [q6] WR 902 (CH 663 in Oct '13) def. Sean HODKIN (GBR) UNR (age 17, born 1998) 6-2 7-5
Pity for the Slovak, but still good to see Jay get another win.
That should ensure him into the GB top 25 on Monday week, a second 18 yo to join Joel Cannell. It's been good to see their progress into and moving up the top 1000. Hopefully plenty more to come.
L16: (Q) Jay Clarke WR 953 lost to (3) Aleksandar Lazov (BUL) WR 519 (CH 324 29/06/15) 6-1 3-6 6-1
Jay has been picking up ranking points pretty regularly over the last couple of months or so and as said he should be into the GB top 25 on Monday week though won't be if either Robbie Ridout in Egypt or Rhett Purcell in Vietnam win three more matches and hence a futures title !
