QR1: (q2) Kyle Edmund WR 54 (= CH) vs (qWC) He Yecong (CHN) WR 575 (CH = 492 in June)
Youzhny's the top seed, but Kyle won't have to play him, obviously. His FQR opponent is either another qWC, Gao Xin (WR 469), or the Serbian q10, Dusan Lajovic (WR 76).
Curious, that. The site normally records DC matches, but on this occasion doesn't. Kyle of course beat Lajovic by 6-3 6-4 7-6(5) in the quarter-finals in July to give team GB an unassailable lead over Serbia in a tie in which Andy did not play. I should have remembered, the clue being Bob's .
After his 5 matches in Beijing concluding with his QF loss to Andy on Friday Kyle moves cities and is due on Saturday not before 4 pm local ( following 2 matches beginning from noon ) - that's not before 9 am BST.

Steve Johnson or Martin Klizan in the L32. Monfils (6), Goffin (11) & Pouille (13) are the other seeds in his quarter. NoDjo's back in harness as the top seed.
L32: (1 ) Jamie Murray & Bruno Soares (BRA) CR 9 (4+5) vs BYE
Cabal & Farrah are in the other half of the draw next week. The other seeds in their half are Kubot & Melo (3), Bopanna & Nestor (6) & Lindstedt & Pospisil (8). The Bryans are the second seeds.
QR1: (q2) Kyle Edmund WR 54 defeated (qWC) He Yecong (CHN) WR 575 by 3 & 2 (or even tehe! )
Now for (probably) Lajovic.
I would guess that after the highs of last week and playing Andy in the QFs, this was quite a tough match motivationally. Good to see Kyle come through comfortably and he is already in the "plus" column for points as the 16 already earned here will replace a 12 on his rankings breakdown. I doubt 4 extra points make much difference when you are a Top 50 player though
