6 breaks to 2 in the match - and if I've read the blog right, Laura's serve stood up just fine.

Great all-round performance from our girls

Yes, the blog is a little confusing as they seemed to suggest Laura was serving for the match, but they way I saw it they broke for the match, having held the previous game.  However, I can get very confused !!!

Ostapenko finally won through after 2 hours 37 mins, 115 points to 110. Hopefully the doubles will be just as close !!

Latvia win the doubles and the tie against Turkey. So if we beat Latvia tomorrow we are almost through (or at least in a very strong position), but lose and we are almost out.

Portugal was always the "easier" match in the group. Turkey and Latvia should be much more of a test. Still expect us to get through.

Ostapenko & Cagla were both on court today for over 4 hours, as both also played doubles.
Hopefully that will at least dull or blunt any edge either of them might have brought with them this week, to offer GB an extra little advantage.
