Week 34 - Italy F26 ($10,000) - Piombino (hard)

QR1:  Ben Draper UNR vs (q10) Tommaso Gabrieli (ITA) WR 2054 (CH = 2019 at the start of this month)

Surprisingly, perhaps, Ed Corrie should be in the main draw, conceivably as the third seed.

Close but Ben Draper loses out in two tie-breaks...

Good he's trying a few adult tournaments - wonder what his plans are for next year ?

QR1: Ben Draper UNR lost to (q10) Tommaso Gabrieli (ITA) WR 2054 7-6(3) 7-6(5)

Eds down for European hard court challengers for a few weeks makes sense to get a few points in the bag to warm up. A few decent results and he should be well inside the top 300 with any luck.

Ed appears to be cruising to victory here - hoping that's not famous last words.

He leads 6-2 3-1*

Should put this here as well so we know who he is playing

QF: (3) Ed Corrie WR 357 vs Matteo Trevisan (ITA) WR 1065 (CH 267 Oct 2010)

Come on Ed. Make it worth my while typing this out. 3-3* at the change of ends.

They often do.

They're still playing in the women's 10k in Egypt too

It was 39 degrees yesterday, where I am - not racing around, playing tennis weather....

This is getting tight. *8-8 in the breaker now. Ed has had 3 SPs so far and just saved an MP.
