Week 30 - ITF 75k - Prague Open, Prague, Cz, Clay

Doubles R16

Anna Smith + Rebecca Peterson SWE (4) v Evgenia Rodina RUS + Carina Witthoeft GER

Interesting, but makes me a bit worried about Jocelyn's fitness.

Joss has had that large bandage on her thigh for several months now, always the same heavy strapping, perhaps indicating that it wasn't improving. That might be the cause, though it could be something else altogether.

Rebanna (it'll never catch on) win, against a pair of decent players. Face another decent set of players in the next round.
R1: Anna SMITH/Rebecca PETERSON (GBR/SWE) [4] 239 defeated Evgenia RODINA/Carina WITTHOEFT (RUS/GER) 534 7-5 6-4
QF: Anna SMITH/Rebecca PETERSON (GBR/SWE) [4] 239 v. Denisa ALLERTOVA/Katarzyna PITER (CZE/POL) 448

Joss posted a picture of her training at Nottingham, so not convinced she is injured.

Anna has Swedish links through family maybe she's helping out here or maybe it's a new beginning. Time will tell...

Thanks, newman.

Best of luck for the rehab, Joss.

Allertova and Piter both lost in 2+ hr singles matches earlier, and maybe that has fuelled their efforts in doubles, as at the moment they are comfortably bossing Anna & Rebecca, who are down, 4-6 *2-3

Maybe those long matches catching up with the opposition.
Now a toilet break before the MTB in a doubles! Can't immediately recall having seen that before, I suppose it was bound to come eventually. And, with Johanna employing one on Sunday after her second set, which I was fine with, I guess ay attack on the practice now would be hypocritical. Still, can't remember one in doubles.

In Spain last night (pretty sure it was) the pair playing Josh Paris+ also took a bathroom break before the MTB.

Again, after they just so happened to have lost the second set.

I thought it was a bit cheeky too, to be honest.....

Well, the MTB might have challenged Annacca, they did go 4-0 up in the MTB, so I don't think they can blame losing on the loo.
