Interesting choice to play a 10k but a good move.

Obvious choice, until she gets her ranking to sub 400. Where she may scrape into main draws or seeded in qualifying.

It's a difficult call but for someone with funding there's a lot to be said for steering clear of the 10ks.

They're a thankless task, rather soul destroying, give no net money whatsoever, and low points.

Katie did far better last week in the 25k where, admittedly, she got an easyish draw. But, then, she got a decent draw here too.

Of course, though, Katie's ranking has only had a major jump because of one single win at the Wimbly Qs (where she was lucky to even have a berth).

It's hardly a solid base.

It looks as if consistency remains Katie's biggest issue six months into her comeback from a year out. Her best is pretty good, but she also seems to have real off days.

Given such variable form I'd say that there is an argument for at least some10Ks for now and try and build up series of matches. Though her best could again qualify and win a round or two in 25Ks.

Well at least she is aware of the problem. She tweeted this just after the match finished.

What I love about tennis- You can some of your best tennis one day and the next play like you haven't played tennis before

Hey what stunning analysis and I hadn't seen her tweet

I do hope she can find that consistency - that's consistently the good stuff.
