The qualy draw isn't out yet, but Cam Norrie is on the acceptance list & should be in the main draw. I hope he can come close to repeating his heroics of this week in Tulsa.
I know that the US summer futures are often a minefield of underranked players, but even by their standards, this one has a huge number of traps. Mr Norrie is one, but he is far from alone.
L32: Cameron Norrie WR 640 defeated (SE) Paul Oosterbaan (USA) UNR by 3 & 1
*****
L16: Felix Corwin (USA) WR 1388 (CH = 1384 last September) vs Cameron Norrie WR 640
Corwin, who's 20, took out the fourth seed, Darian King, in three sets in his first-round match. I presume he's yet another off the college kid production line.
And Cam's now 71 points may well sneak him into the top 500 on Monday week, helped on tiebreaker if 71 points remains at the dividing line by having played relatively few tournaments Winning his QF would certainly make sure.

I am backing Cam to add another win and remove any doubt from the equation. Add that to Marcus' success and things are looking up in the Top 500 stakes.
I have to say all of the top 4 at the moment in the college rankings will all be fantastic players going forward. That Torpegaard of Denmark is superb especially, in my opinion.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Cam wins the whole thing again, even with Paul in his side of the draw.
How long does Cam still have at college? He seems more than ready to give the tour a full go. Or do others think that he'd be better equipped developing for a bit longer with the odd forray into the tour?
