Court 17 (Bryden and Marcus) is being televised via the BBC website and the red button. Currently no commentary for the 1st match on (Brengle vs Nara - incidentally I spotted EWS supported Madison (?)) but perhaps this will change once the Brits are on court?

Well, it's getting better but Mannarino has been giving Kyle the run-around....

Well held, has to really dig in and at least keep within one break for now and take chances when they come.

I kind of often wish Id see Kyle more obviously pumping himself up rather than the almost placid way he goes about his business But that's him.

Yay, broke back after I thought he'd blown his chance at 40-30*

Meanwhile James is receiving the expected lesson out on centre.

Well, it's easy to be critical but that was really a pretty poor match ....... (from Kyle, that is.....)

For the record

L128:  Adrian Mannarino (FRA) WR 54 defeated Kyle Edmund WR 68 by 2, 5 & 4  cry

I thought he had a shot at that... hmm

I didn't expect Kyle to win (Mannarino is a very good grass court player) but the scoreline was certainly disappointing.

As Bouncy was saying re Kyle, still rather too one dimensional, which I agree with him does leave questions re future top 10/20 which many have assigned for him. Though today was not his best.

But with so much that clearly can be improved on, allied to fearhand, he has a lot of upward potential at still a relatively very young age. Will continue to be a journey to follow with interest and hope.

Yes, Adrian plays an intelligent, fluid game on grass. But I thought it would be closer. It's not just the scoreline that was disappointing but the match in general, really....

James edged out in the 2nd set TB so it's now 0-6 6(3)-7 1-0*
Wardy has taken 1/9 BPs so far, including 2/3 missed chances to break at 5/5
I hope he's taking a lot of confidence from that set, he was toe to toe with Novak throughout it
