In a surprising move it looks like James Ward will play qualifying in Stuttgart (2nd alt) rather than the Surbiton challenger.

He really is losing the plot.

Usual suspects have entered Surbiton 50K - looks very similar to the Eastbourne entry list. I see Daniela Hantuchova has entered. Might be a candidate for a Wimbledon MD WC

This is where Maia Lumsden (as well as youngsters, brother Ewan, Jacob F, Aidan, Alex Hunter and Connor Thomson) will be on June 10-11,

playing alongside Tim Henman, Greg, Enquist and Pioline.

Hope it's a great event.

After WCs are awarded, I would say that Wardy is definitely into Stuttgart qualies.

I personally don't think it's a bad idea. Away from British eyes for a week to just concentrate on his tennis. Sounds good to me!

I'll tidy up all the entries when I get back from Didsbury, but Surbiton is yet again the weakest of the 50ks. Ilkley is loaded.

James has made Stuttgart qualies

Tara and Freya have withdrawn from Surbiton, which indicates they have a wildcard of some sort for Nottingham. Robbo has one of the main draw wildcards, idon't think the other wildcards have been announced.

I expect Katy will get in the main draw directly for Surbiton, which should free up another wildcard. Katie Swan looks a given and Harriet, Gabi and Lisa would be my best guesses.

Amanda Carreras, given her withdrawal from Italy, will be an option for a wildcard at either Nottingham or Surbiton.

Miffed that Freya has withdrawn from Surbiton (am hoping to get down there).

But many of us had said that she was a shoe-in for a Notts wildcard so there's no real surprise :::(((

Gabi had a MD wildcard last year so I'm not sure if they'll give her one this year too.

They also threw in a youngster wildcard last year (to Georgie Axon) so they might do something similar this year.

Emily Arb lives quite near. Or maybe Emily Appleton, given NTC connections etc. (Mandy would be a nice bet if she wanted one, given her run last year).

If you were looking to design a programme that deliberately set out to maliciously minimise the opportunities for British success, I don't know how you could improve on the idea of holding two of the 3 decent-level home ITF tournaments to clash with home WTA fixtures.

Most of our contenders with a decent chance at Surbiton are most likely to end up as also-rans at Nottingham; which leaves us with 'possibles" instead of "probables' at Surbiton.

A Notts wildcard has been given to Karolina Pliskova, relegating Jo to third seed.

Katie Swan has withdrawn from Surbiton. MDWCs for Dart and Taylor.

I'm not sure who will get the other two wildcards. Surbiton decimated again...

Plenty of low ranked GB players should get into qualifying and pick up points
