No less (oops) fewer than 6 Brits in qualies here this week.

Well, that was a bit sad....

QR1: Jamie Praditngam UNR lost to Ku Kang (KOR) WR 2188 (CH 1078 Nov 2014) 2-6 6-1 6-0

QR1: Pierre Luiggi UNR lost to Punn Bodhidatta (THA) UNR (CH 1343 May 2014) 6-0 6-2

QR1: Patrick Foley UNR lost to Luca Castelnuovo (SUI) UNR (CH 1726 May 2015) 6-3 6-2


But Luke saves the day:

18 year-old Luke seems to be having a reasonably trip out to Turkey - he's won the first two rounds in Qualifying each time in the last two tournaments, only to then get knocked out. It's not stellar but, for a youngster, he's learning his craft. He'll get the WR 1492 Polish guy, in the next round, though which won't be easy, one would assume.....

No sign of one.  It went to the Czech who was Imran's playing partner in the doubles last week:

Form wise, I think Joel is still playing catch up this year having missed the early part of the season with injury, but there have been promising signs over the last couple of weeks. This was a decent draw for him, but he did everything that could have been asked of him.

Yes, it's great to see him at least get a couple of wins which should set him up for the good.

Having lost to George last week or so, it's nice that he took advantage of the win this time.

Good to see from Joel, certainly looking like one to watch in that age group ( turned 18 on 27/11/15 )
