I am not quite sure if this is now the section for Dan ( British men )
But the ITF site is showing him as British and although the ATP site shows him as Australian, if you select the country ranking lists he appears on the British list ( still under the Aussie flag ) and not the Australian ranking list.
I don't know much about him other than him being a doubles partner of Alex Ward and having a good SF singles week in Tunisia recently ( I recall actually joking then that we should claim him ). He is just 19 and if British that week would further reinforce him as GB's top ranked teenager ( not that high a bar ). I see that his birthplace is shown on the ITF site as Chichester
Anyone know more about a possible nationality change ?

That would be nice news, and welcome to Brit-world, Dan D !
(A different first name might have been handy by hey........)
He was certainly part of the training squad that Alex was going around with (which also included James Allemby). Based in Spain. At the Ad in Tennis Academy, I think. With Abel Rincon, and Guilera.
Dan is currently WR 1153 on 8 points. But his 6 points from last week's Tunisia 10K SF add on Monday taking him to 14 points, which should have him fairly well into the top 1000, and I make it GB #27
There is something worryingly wrong about the state of our youth game when we have mass celebrations for a child with 14 points and Glasspool reaching a futures final.. Future looks bleaks if you ask me.
For my part, I only stated facts re Dan's points and GB ranking position. I have otherwise pointed quite a few times ( I am more concerned whether I overdo it ) to the real dearth of young British males coming through ( full support and admiration for many of the individuals doing their best, but that overall situation is, well, just bad on it's own part and in comparison to the GB women, who I suspect, partly in consequence, will overtake our men before too long in top 500ers and top 1000ers ).
Dan giving his allegiance and increasing our number of top 1000 ranked GB male teenagers from err 0 to 1, at least until his 20th birthday on 31st May, and Lloyd reaching a futures final, has only been even remotely seen as being a source of mass celebration in imagination. My own 'not too high a bar' was unconcealed comment as to the real worth of Dan's new position in the overall scheme of things. However, we certainly did pass on well dones and congrats to Lloyd, as with other individual accomplishments, and why ever not.
