Makes sense Andy optimises the opportunity to play on clay, Dom gets a decent partner and there may be a day when Jamie is unavailable for Davis Cup (modelling/PR/resting in order to give his best on tour and maintain his no 1 status) and Andy plays with Dom, who has to be fair been a fantastic asset and unwavering positive influence on the team.

Jamie is on 7415 with nothing to defend. Anything in addition to his current 18th counter of 200 points will be profit.
Marcelo Melo is on 7410 points and defending 360 points from SF last year, so will have to better that this year and reach the final to go #1. Reaching the final would certainly take him back to #1 since he is the same half as Jamie. So essentially the #1 spot after Monte Carlo comes down to whether Melo is in the final or not
Noone else can take the #1 spot, Tecau and Rojer's maximum if they were to win the title is 7380 points.

Are our two pairs in separate halves? I hope we don't have a Murray Murray match again with Murray senior throwing it
They are indeed in separate halves so can't meet before the final. And if Jamie's in the final he will already have #1 position secured ( indeed enhanced ) for another week.
Great win. Anyone see the match? Would love to know what the partnership actually is like when playing, given that my understanding has always been that Mr Inglot's strengths are quite different from Jamie Murray's.
I see Bobby is here with a different partner also. Does anyone know if this is a permanent split with Dom or if they are just trying out an open relationship for this week?

I think the main issue will have been that Inglot & Lindstedt will have been in danger of missing out in getting into the draw, so have found higher ranked partners with Andy's singles ranking obviously ( and indeed it would appear that they would have ended missing out on the final list, with last acceptance 'on site' being CR 63, which appears to be Marrach & Thiem based on last week's rankings ( not sure if they use such up to date rankings for 'on site' but it appears to fit here ) with a CR of 47 + 14 ( Thiem's singles ) = 63. Inglot & Lindstedt's combined ranking last week was 37 + 29 = 66. Of course two of the pairs that make CR 66 too high are Inglot and Lindstedt's partnerships for this week. But they may have realised it was tight and made these arrangements early. And Inglot & Andy Murray is an interesting partnership in itself.
As discussed before these 24 pair draws that can potentially exclude such a relatively high ranked pair as Inglot & Lindstedt from a Masters seem tough, and it has at times been worse with more singles players in the draw. Would think it better to have full 32 pair draws,
