British Tennis - Family Connections

I knew Ali Collins' dad was a professional footballer.

(And the Irish lad, Simon Carr)

But have just realised that Connor Thomson's dad is Malky Thomson, previously trying to be a pro at Aberdeen and now head coach at Rangers of their women's team. Brother is Callum Thomson, also pro footballer.

Just put two and two together to realise that Max Basing is Nick Basing's son.

Max was at the Rafa academy for quite a while - really impressive game of tennis - now aged 19 or so and over in the states at Stanford and doing very well in the tennis rankings

Nick Basing is/was obviously on the ATP Board. Used to be non-exec director of Wimbledon.
Also heavily into private equity ventures, and was "chairman of a venture expanding a chain of soccer centres in the U.K. to the U.S. And he also was chairman of Ten Entertainment Group, comprised of 45 large urban family entertainment centres."

Equally, "Nick Basing has been elected to serve as one of the three ATP Tour player council representatives on the ATP Board. Basings three-year term begins in January 2022. He will replace another Brit, Alex Inglot, as ATP Board Director and European region representative on the board."

Alex Inglot is the younger brother of Dom Inglot ....

Jon mentioned on another thread that he knows very little about Giacomo Revelli

So just to mention the most important thing ():

Giacomo's father was a swimmer who represented Italy at 1976 Montreal Olympics, 1980 Moscow Olympics and 1984 Los Angeles Olympics

Ok, this isn't a British family connection but:

Michael Chang's daughter, Lani, is 13 and playing in her first ever ITF juniors event, a J60, and has made the final

Good luck to her - and bet dad will be nervous (Michael is her coach, as well as dad, not too surprisingly)

Michael wont be nervous. He has ALWAYS got the big man in his teams corner, hes lucky that way.
