Manisha has started.

Chiesa is obviously a familiar name as she is played all the recent GB ITF tournaments. Without a huge amount of success, it has to be added.

Looks like Manisha was unlucky not to get a LL spot - the Lucky losers in ITF are randomly drawn aren;t they?, as per the rule book:

After commencement of the Qualifying competition:
i. Vacancies in the Main Draw may only be filled by Lucky
Losers, which shall be selected as follows:
The order of the ranked players shall be randomly drawn,
thereafter the order of the unranked players shall be drawn.

Anyway, there were two spots that went to the (q3) and the (q14), although Manisha was (q8)

Wow, so a third LL spot comes available, as the second seed drops out.

Brilliant news for Lapko, obviously.

Lapko is the world number one junior, so hardly a 'nice' non-seed.

But at least it's a cheque.....

Manisha ended up losing the 1st set 6-2 but broke in the first game of the 2nd set, only to get broken back immediately - she has only held serve once in five attempts so far.
