After such a long lay-off, that result is not altogether surprising. His form will return.

Decent win for Kyle against the wily old campaigner.

Yes, well done Kyle; that was definitely a potential banana skin match-up

Good stuff Edmund.

Can someone explain what is behind on all the advert spamming on the thread at the moment, is it a trojan or robot? Or is it some joke that I am not aware of??

all the qualifying spots look quite winnable: Jaziri, Pospisil, Mayer, Gabashvili

I certainly hope that his form will return but he has struggled badly for about a year so there is serious cause for concern.

Monday week he will have 329 points, with 170 of them coming from 2 tournaments. The first being his Wimbledon run, where with the best will in the world he benefited from a dream draw. The second was the Bangalore challenger which had an extremely weak field. He also has 40 points for his Davis Cup win over Isner (soon to drop off) and 29 points for a SF of another very weak challenger.

Al in all for most of the last year James has looked like a player who doesn't belong in the top 200, never mind challenging for the top 100.

Assuming he wins tomorrow (likely but not certain) I would prefer him to avoid Pospisil who could be pretty dangerous on these fast courts.

Yes all the best to James, and of course there was the sadness re his coach, but maybe a bit like Liam ( although clearly much more time on his side ) it will take more than hope and faith. It needs generally much better play than we have seen over the last year.
