Nice to see Jodie back on the main tour.

One guaranteed qualifier and I'd expect Emily A and Manisha to qualify

Katy, Harriet and Katie S in main draw by right
Wildcards to Fran, Emily A and presumably Katie B and Maia.

I suspect Maia will not want to use the final MD wildcard at Wirral and save it for later in the year.

Lucy Brown was supposed to be in the Q draw, and isn't.

Which either means the injury she picked up last week when they withdrew from the doubles is troubling her or that she's got a wildcard. Hope she's OK.....

Emma Hurst's well-ranked German opponent has withdrawn, leaving an ALT spot for Grace Dixon, which is nice for the British girls.

I have a funny feeling that Katie Swan, who will not be seeded this week, will probably draw the top seed and fellow Brit Katy Dunne in the first round. Lets hope I'm wrong.

It would be lovely to have them in opposite sides of the draw.

There's no doubt that Katie is the player everyone in the draw will want to avoid - apart from Katy Dunne, all the other players are ranked lower than the Georgian Katie beat reasonably comfortably in Fed Cup.

I think Arcangioli could be tough - beat Razzano and Vrljic over the past few weeks.

Very nice win by Jodie. So pleased she is now well and uninjured (I'm assuming)

Jodie is a more emotional Freya, only two years younger. It will be wonderful to follow her over the next few years.

And to be honest, if you had to bet on which 1999-er was going to be top of the heap come 7 years time, I wouldn't be all that surprised if Jodie took it over Katie.

Don't think so.

On the ITF site, Eden lost 6-2 6-2 and - rather surprisingly - Laura D got beaten by Aleksandra Pitak, 6-2 in the third

Just for the record, am I right in thinking that Aleksandra Pitak is the same as Ola Pitak?

And that the sister, Katarzyna, is the same as Kasia?

i.e. Ola and Kasia are nicknames/petnames/whatever of Aleksandra and Katarzyna ?

And there's only two of them, not four ?!?!

PS and yes, as you say, big congrats to her - she's only 14 - it's an excellent victory.

Think so.

Younger of two tennis-playing same-sex siblings. Like Jamie's and Venus's annoying little snotty ball-kids...

Mesdames, messieurs, faites vos jeux...
