Reix is another player I don't rate too highly. Certainly not an under-ranked 'hot shot', although obviously not completely shabby either. Hasn't been in that great of form recently.

(NB The drawsheets have this as a $500k event, but the general site says $426,750 - not sure which to put......)

H2H is 1-1, both in 2007. The then Ms. Benemar won 6-3 6-2 in a $10k in Jersey, then the following week in the Sunderland $10k Em got revenge with a 6-3 6-4 win. (Em won a $100k qualifying match in 2013 but qualifying matches don't count for official H2H stats.)

The winner plays (q4) Hiroko Kuwata (JPN) WR 197 (CH=152 Nov 2014) for a place in the MD.

I wonder who Em will be playing Doubles with here...

It is a higher level WTA International event - the prize money is higher, but the points are the same.

WTA classify into Premier Mandatory, Premier 5, Premier 12, International and then 125

H2H is actually 2-1 to Emily. She played Sherazad in the Q event in Vancouver in 2013 and won 5-7 6-4 6-3

Reix not too disimilar to de Bernardi but hopefully a different result than in Brazil.

The WTA call anything close to $250,000 an "International 250K" and anything close to $500,000 an "International 500K"

Lost 5-7, 5-7.

And in rather alarming news, there was a large earthquake in the region this morning...

Kaoshiung is only 30 miles away from the earthquake in Tainan that has brought down some buildings, so we hope everyone stays safe in any potential aftershocks.

Shame she couldn't serve out the second set from 30-15 but a 19hr flight and being woken up at 4am by a massive earthquake is not exactly great match prep. Im still hopeful there's a few good singles wins in there. Just not today

Interested to see who she enters doubles with.
