Congratulations to Arsenal, one of their greatest European triumphs. I was quite stunned at both the away and home leg results as I didn't think they'd have a strong enough defence to withstand the attacking power of Real Madrid. Happily they proved me wrong. Juventus is a good draw, they're not the team they have been and as Liverpool proved last year, they are vulnerable defensively.

I knew Arsenal were through as soon as I clicked onto the BBC boards and saw mkkreuk's new username there !!! That's actually one of the main reasons I visit the BBC boards now, to see what new name mkkreuk's come up with !!!

So far, my personal favourite is: "mkkreuk - I know I'm not perfect but I'm so close it scares me"

Lol! I'll see what i can do to keep u entertained!

At the moment it's the Mismedication of Mkkreuk (it was the Miseducation of Mkkreuk as i was listening to Lauryn Hill at the time but then one of the posters suggested the change and i thought it was apt since i was ill)

Neways back to the football. Its not as tough as it could be agreed BUT their type of play is not too good for us a bit too defensive. We like to face flamboayant attacking teams as we can break back quickly.

Yes, tremendous result !

I didn't think it was a good tie for Arsenal with Juventus well clear in the Italian League ( now 9 points ) and only having lost one leagur game all season.  I wasn't sure Juventus style would suit Arsenal either.  But over the 2 games Arsenal certainly made them look second best.

In theory. the semi against Villarreal looks easier, heck Rangers nearly beat them in the last 16

However, if Villarreal have everyone fit, still could be a tricky tie.  Villarreal have a really great player in the Argentinian midfielder Riquelme  and a goal scoring forward ( yes, Man U fans  )  in Forlan.

Villareal are just like us, no one expected us to do it so we are both underdogs and i don't want to get carried away...one step at a time...

We have got half a foot into the champions league hopefully we can shut them out and continue this amazive defensive run whilst scoring a few at the other end (to settle my nerves)

I'd go for 'good result'.

Could still see this going either way, but at least 1-0 is better than 2-1.

I can't see Villareal scoring 3, so nick a goal over there and I really do see Arsenal being in the final.

PS :  I really would like to see Arsenal win the Champions League, but hope they also finish 4th in the league, so we don't have a mess again with Spurs threatening all sorts of appeals if they finish 4th but Arsenal nick their Champions League place for next season  ( amusing as that would be for Arsenal fans )

did anyone else think villareal used quite a lot of gamesmanship, constantly rolling around to get arsenal to play the ball out then straight up on the feet when they do, when its that obvious i think ref's should take some action. Justice done with that penalty tho, did anyelse notcie how much the villa cpatin was handling out players in the box waiting for corners.

stil arsenal did well to progress, you could see how nervous they were, so many poor passes.
