Week 45 - WTA 125k - Hua Hin

Em is seeded 7 and plays one of her best friends Ksenia Lykina, who is the highest ranked unseeded player. Tad unfortunate as the two unseeded players either side are the weakest in the draw but it's really all about the doubles anyway (albeit she's defending big points over the next few weeks so had to be careful not to slip out the top 400).

Someone can fix the thread title as I know I've done it wrong.

Lost 62 36 63

Was getting killed down a set amd a break so did well to make it competitive in the end.

Not a surprising result by any means. Going to need a favour from lady luck to keep her singles ranking afloat.

Good to see Emily back with Nao, it seems a good partnership.

A R1 win worth 29 points would take over from her lowest counter of 25 from December last year and leave her with nothing to defend until a 140 point 100K title points due to come off in February.

Hopefully though can also at least reach the SF, worth 57 points, to push on her total ranking score further for now.

Em currently 110 points adrift of the world top 100; here's hoping she can bridge some of that gap this week :)

I couldn't help noticing when I was looking at the rather unfamiliar WTA 125 ranking awards that the title comes with 160 points.

Ignore us, Em, one step at a time

Led *4-2 but Nao totally lost her composure. Really bizarre she got totally wild and lost her cool

4-6 0-0*

Thais solid as they always are

Just didn't play well enough on the day. The Thais are a bit of a thorn in Emily's side, sshe's come up short against them quite a few times.

Missed opportunity definitely. Maybe Japan will bring brighter things after 3 round 1 exits.
