Week 44 - ITF ($50K) - Canberra, Australia - Hard

L32: Katy Dunne WR 287 v (WC) Maddison Inglis (AUS) WR 778 (CH 768 in Feb)

Inglis is a 17-year-old currently ranked 68 in juniors. Katy is a bit too close to Hozumi in the draw again, unfortunately - after losing to her in R1 in Toowoomba and R1 in Brisbane, she could meet her in R2 again here.

Disappointing, but I was a little worried about this match up. I saw Maddison Inglis play some matches in the WC play off for the Ozzie Open at the back end of last year, and she's a big hitter - lots went in and lots went out, and she blitzed the steadier, more experienced Alexandra Nancarrow (who didn't play a bad match, but her loopy balls just sat up begging for Inglis to take a big swing at them). To cut my rambling short, I thought Inglis might be able to out slug Katy from the baseline (but was obviously hoping that she'd hit more errors than winners).
