Looking at todays live rankings, the race for 10/250 and 20/500 is close...

Top 250 - we have 8 in and 10th is in 287 (Billy). So we have 80 percent of the players in place and the 10th is 14.8% outside the 250 mark

Top 500 - we have 17 in and the 20th (Kyle) is at 551. So, we have 85% of the players in place and 20th is 10.2% outside the 500 mark.

Very tight in this little challenge, the top 500 seems just that little bit more achievable right now, to me at least, based on those stats and looking at the players concerned (i just dont see Billy as a top 250 player, really sorry and much as I like him).

However, I still dont really see us getting either mark by year end!

If Kyle is fit, he is a no brainer.

JPJ needs one decent tournament and then we are reliant on one more to have a decent couple of tournaments - JoMo would be my pick.

I think it will happen before Nov.

Jon and Paulisi are like a great double act - Mr Chirpy and My Doom-and-Gloom

This is the two of them from last year - Paulisi who was all hyped that it was going to happen before Nov 2022, and Jon who was on the never, we're miles away, track.

And here we are again biggrin

In all seriousness, I think this 'race' - both for the 20 in the top 500 and 10 in the top 250 - has been really interesting, and exciting. And continues to be - we've been VERY close many times, but just can't get over the line.

Tell me about it disbelief

Haha- indeed and i remembered the discussion as well! Dont get me wrong, Id love to see it happen, both targete and it has made it fun to follow; Id love to be proved wrong ! Lets see what transpires!

I noticed i commented a year ago on not seeing Billy as a top 250 player, lets hope that is proven wrong very soon!

With 15 now basically guaranteed to be top 500 at year end and Jay back playing and almost there on a guaranteed 78 points, with Kyle back playing ( and Paul although he still has a lot to do ), and with others not too far away, I certainly don't see us as necessarily miles away from having 20 in the top 500. Yes, I suspect we won't quite make it by year end - but we might!

After the 15 guaranteed to have over 80 points by year end we have in order of guaranteed year end points ( allowing for any points due off ) :

Jay 78 ( including his 1 point this week )
Giles 66 ( including 8 points so far this week )
Harry 65 ( 0 this week)
Anton 60 ( not playing this week)
Kyle 59 ( including 8 points so far this week )

All 5 of these are entered for the coming 2 weeks, Jay in Egypt, the other 4 in Glasgow and Sunderland. These current 3 weeks always looked as if they might be rather useful.

However, if truly looking for 20 by year end there seems no margin with a bit of a drop off to the next group, either not playing or quite far behind

The next ones by guaranteed year end points are :

Dan L 50
Alistair 41 ( back on the end of month Sunderland entry list ) Jack PJ.38
Johannus 35 ( including 1 so far this week )
Stuart 32 ( including 2 so far this week )
Hamish 30

How many points is Paul Jubb guaranteed to achieve? Thanks for the analysis, Indy.

And does the 250 target have any legs this season or is that effectively out of sight right now?

Including his 3 points this week, Paul just has 15 ranking points from this year.

He has 37 points still to drop from last year, including 30 points from a Challenger SF.

Thanks Indy- I guess it is just about match time for now.

Hope your weather is not too awful?

I think the big question about the 10 in the top 250 target is who's the potential #10?

7 well in, Billy on the verge, and Arthur progressing nicely. But I just can't see 10 this year.

Get and stay fit, and such as Kyle, Jay and Paul are well capable of getting there again in time. But they would of course first have to add to the top 500 total, and possibly contribute to that target being met first.

..... if we ever do meet at least one of the targets !

Weather not too awful so far, thanks.

Hmmm, OK, Indy, I see Jaggy's problem - how to get a new 250-er without them being a new 500-er first....

Aidan and Charlie and Dan Cox don't seem likely

Toby is obviously on a good upwards trajectory - but has two 15k finals points to come off this year

Felix seems to have the most clear water in front of him and seemingly playing well - but it's asking a lot

The best hope would be George - if Loffers was up and running, then I'd say that was an easy pick

But where is he? #keephealthyGeorge

If Kyle wins tomorrow he is virtually in top 500 alongside Jay Clarke.
That in reality is 17 guaranteed.

All eyes on Harry W, Anton and Giles Hussey next week.

So Agent Fearnley adds Edmund to Hussey in his victims. So instead of these two winning 25 and 16 points between them they get 16 and 8.

Kyle, Harry W, Anton and George L all in Glasgow and no doubt eager to have good weeks this week, picking up the runners and riders pointed out by others.

Felix has the 2nd seed for a tough start in Italy in his pursuit up the rankings and the top 250. Will be hard to replicate last weeks results.

Giles has decamped over to Canada where he is seeded 7th.

An 80 points total is slightly jumping the gun for year end. But I don't doubt that he will make that much more secure, possibly in the next day or two.
