RE: Top 500

Men's doubles WR for w/c 7 mar

So Julian creates some space between himself and Henry in the net points YTD chart, thanks trading partners last week.  Luke's recent good performance also means he climbs up to 2nd place in the chart. In the reverse chart, Neal and Joe who have lost most net points so far, but their total points are so much larger than the others, that they are still able to retain their places atop the GB rankings.

Women's single WR for w/c 6 Mar

So  two months in and it remains pretty tight (and low scoring) in the chart for net point gains.  Jodie is our current leader, with Emma and Heather not too far behind. In the 'reverse' chart, much like Jack in the Men's singles, Sonay is suffering somewhat from the great start she had to 2022.

Freya and Ali continue to maintain their big lead of the rest of the field in the net points chart lead and they are now up to GB#3 and #4 in the WRs.   In the corresponding chart for biggest net loss, its similarly close with the old hands, Tara and Heather fighting it out at the top.

Men's singles WR for w/c 20 Mar

Cam continues to remain out front in the net points YTD chart. For the moment, Ryan takes 2nd place, but there's not much between the others for the moment.  In the biggest WR net gains YTD, Ali is our current leader.  His 400+ rise takes him to just outside a Top1500 place. Of those who currently feature in this chart, only 4 have a WR inside the Top1000, with Dan Little being the highest ranked player at WR636.  Week on week, Felix drops and is now on the verge of falling out of the Top500. Higher up there are a few players trading places (Jack/Andy, Ryan/Liam, Alastair/Jay).

Thing are much tighter in the YTD net point chart for doubles, with Julian just edging ahead for the moment. Whereas in the biggest WR net gains chart, Elbert has a clear lead, up over a 1000 places.  However despite this, his ranking is still outside the Top1000 (WR1150).  Of those featured in the chart, 5 have rankings inside the Top1000, with Jay being the highest ranked. Week on week, Joe Tyler makes the biggest move in the Top600, Cameron, the biggest drop.

Not my man, Jon.

I had merely pointed out that when you said elsewhere that Ali was going to drop about 50 places in the next rankings, that these were live rankings as you say here and that Ali was entered into an M25 this week where he could mitigate most of that drop.

I hadn't factored in you evidently knowing the future

Anyway hopefully he will refind more form soon.

Just pulling your leg Indy. Seriously, Alis form has been disappointing since Wimbledon really, not sure how much is form or fitness related, but this was disappointing.

sadly I dont know the future - I barely remember the past and just about cope with the here and now. The future is well beyond me!

Harry Wendelken slips back to 502 in the rankings and we are back to just 17 in the Top 500. These guys really are teasing me, aren't they.

Bob - your man Mr Edmund maybe trying to come to your rescue.

Hes in the Indian Wells draw using his PR so that will be 10 points if he plays. (PRs get these points, WCs dont).

That would either get him in or close with 72pts.

Additionally he is an ALT for qualifying for 2 challengers the week before and has a good chance to get into one or other of them. A win even in qualies would then mean post IW he would definitely make it.

I would also suspect that he will use his PR for Miami too so that would make 82 whatever happens and his job for you is done.

You just need some others to step up!

 You're right, Brittak

And Kyle might well not manage quite to salvage Bob's hopes this week

BUT if he's playing like today (and is actually playing events) then he's back in the top-500 in a flash

biggrin

Women's singles WR for w/c 20 Mar

So Emma and Jodie, our current GB#1 and #2 also fill the top 2 places in the net points year to date, while a familiar name appears in 3rd.  Fran returns to the WRs, making her reappearance at WR863 which also enough for her to make it onto the bottom of the table.  As this is her 'starting ranking for the year', because of the formula to calculate the biggest WR movers, she doesn't make an appearance in this chart (yet).  Instead the leader of that chart is Danielle, although none of the players have made significant moves.

Freya and Ali continue to maintain their great start to the year.  Their impressive net point gains also means they are able to claim 6th and 7th places in the biggest WR movers YTD.  Frst place in this chart is currently held by Emma Wilson who has managed to propel herself into the Top600, while Eden's 3rd place in this chart (and the net points YTD chart) is partly thanks to her big climb this week.

I know I twitter on about our also-ran 2001 cohort - the not Jack Draper lot - but it's looking good once again.....George and Anton and Harry W (don't know where Oscar W has gone)...... all targeting that top 500
