Actually I rather hope not, in the sense that with the women it is still a much longer term campaign, though I believe possible. The guys I think may have better prospects for the 20 in the short to medium term than I fear they may have in a couple of years or so. And I say : Do it for Bob if not yourselves

Looking at the points due to come off on 01/02 and 08/02, generally due to last year's early British futures and the Glasgow challenger, there are a few players facing relatively big points drops to the 70s in ranking points.
It looks though that they should just about all survive in the top 500 ( current WR 500 is on 74 points ) with just Marcus, who faces falling to the 60s, dropping out.
That turned out to be pretty accurate! 5 of 15 Brits in the top 500 within 20 places of dropping out is a bit of a worry, especially since Ed has more than 20 points due off in early March and Dan Cox more than 20 points due off in early April - though it's good to see that they're both playing in Shrewsbury.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Laura will get in with a WC from Miami and Katie should pick up enough points from Mexico and Miami to get over the threshold.
There is half a chance there will be more women in the top 500 than men at some stage this year. We will have 11 women soon with Laura and Katie adding to the list. (I'm pretty confident EWS and Harriet will stay in top 500 for a while) you have the likes of Lisa and Gabbi pushing closer and Maia and Katie with the potential
As for the men - we are down to 14 with Dan S close to dropping out and Dan C has a lot of points to defend in the next few weeks with only Neil, Ed and Evan likely to break through at present.
Ed will move back into the Top 500 next week and after his performance this week, he has already guaranteed that he will stay there for the rest of the year.
Considering the top 500 men, it's looking more and more that the '20' has to happen in the next year or so or it will probably be a very long wait.
As was possibly inevitable some of the 89/90 generation, which has provided numbers, seem to becoming perhaps less focussed and / or less motivated. Some such as Dan Cox and Marcus seem to becoming more involved in coaching, some others seem to be struggling a bit for whatever reasons.
Hopefully there are at least a few more hurrahs from some of them to have them in the top 500, but if and when some move on there is not much sign of new numbers coming through, certainly as far as threatening the top 500 is concerned.
Though hopefully Andy plus at least Bedene, Edmund and Evans, all clearly top 100 in this year's race, will continue to make this relatively a very good year at the top end even if we do struggle for depth.

Yes, looks like the women will probably catch the men with 12 next Monday, I think it's been a long time since they've been at least level on the top 500 count.
Over the short to medium term there will be comings and goings eg. Harriet has 14 points to defend over the French Open fortnight so may be a brief top 500 visit for now from her. But in the longer term it looks to me that the future is British women at the top 500 and other depth comparisons, just so much more evidence of girls coming through as compared to guys. Clearly though things for now very good at the top 100 level with the guys, as well as the girls, and that excites.

The women look poised to overtake the men in the top 500 stakes post Wimbledon.
Women : Currently 11, will add Lisa and Katie B and retain Katie S if she plays her R1 Wimbledon match with its 10 points. So on course for 13.
Men : Currently 12, Josh Milton currently looking at 72 points, which will be borderline to stay in. On course seemingly for 12 at best. Though if Marcus wins his FQR and R1 in the main draw ...
In the slightly longer term Marcus and Dan C back on circuit should not take too long to get back in nor Sam in the ladies.
