RE: Top 500

Didn't know what thread to put this in. But just looking back at the recent run of Mens ITF singles titles. I make it 16 won by GB mens players in the last 12 weeks. Going back to W/b 13/9.
Paul Jubb x 3
Billy Harris x 3
Ali Gray x2
Charles Broom x 2
Ryan Storrie, Giles Hussey, Jack Pinnington-Jones, Henry Patten, Luke Johnson & Stuart Parker all with 1.

Whereas before this we had 9 all year at the ITF level. With nothing between week 27 and week 36.

Thanks for Indiana for collating it all in the Titles thread in General!

If we add in things like Cam winning his IW title and playing WTF our men have done really well but I wonder how much the timing of it from mid Sept could be linked to an Emma effect ? We talk about whether Emma US Open inspired the girls but the mens improvement appears linked timing wise, or is it just coincidence?

Possibly my fault for being a week late in posting the week 47 titles. Can't get the staff these days

Women's WR for w/c 6th Dec.

So the big news over the last 7 days has been Jo's retirement.  As a result, the WTA have removed her from the rankings.  This accounts for the -1 that has occurred across pretty much all the groups.  Other than that, in singles Sarah Beth continues to make gains, climbing into the Top400.  In doubles, as Strongbow mentions, Ali Collins makes the biggest move and is now just perched outside the Top500.

Men's WR for w/c 6th Dec.

In singles, Ryan moves within spitting distance of Jack, while further down Felix and JPJ make some big jumps. In doubles, there are a couple of +1 group moves; Julian is the extra player in the Top600 group, while Charles Broom makes the leap into the Top750.

How can Kyle be ranked higher than Andy and Liam when he hasn't played all year?

Men's WR for w/c 13 Dec.

So in singles, all the movement is at the lower end.  We welcome Billy into the Top500 group, while Charles also jumps upwards accounting for the +1 in the Top750 which now stands at 27, the highest this year.  Going in the opposite direction, Anton and Jan.

In doubles, Charles is the star mover too. Ryan drops out of the Top500.

Women's WR for w/c 13 Dec.

In singles, Beth's charge up the ranking continues unabated. Other than that it's a very quiet week.

Men's WR for w/c 20th Dec.

So in singles, Billy continues his stellar end to the year. while although Jan's drop is less than last week, this time its enough to drop him out of the Top600.  Meanwhile in doubles, its a very quiet week.

Thought i had posted this, but evidently hadn't, not that it matters much since nothing really has changed in the Women's WR this week. smile  Biggest difference across the graphs is Naiktha's single ranking has dropped a bit more.
