RE: Week 40 - ITF ($10K) - Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Hard

Freya *2-5 down in second. Hopefully she doesn't go the way Mirabelle went.

Excellent job Freya - 5 games on the trot to take it 7 - 5 in the second set. Fantastic/Fantastique/Super/Merveilleux

Freya wins 6-2 7-5

Nice win, nice comeback in the second set, nice general progress.

Following on from the final in Sharm a couple of weeks ago, and the QF at the 25k in Woking, she's really putting together a decent run of results.

Bravo !

Now making at least the SF here should almost certainly take Freya into the top 600. She goes level on 39 points with Fran, who is currently WR 587 with these points.

Freya is one of the best promising young British players I think she will be top 200

I think it's a given.

I would like a little mad rush though between now and the end of the year as I put her at number 10 in my predictions last year and they're so far under water at the moment that they need all the help they can get. Allez, Freya, CD needs you smile

Freya is very interesting. Others were seemingly developing quicker in juniors, but I read quite a few folk on the forum, who had seen her in action, suggesting she had a "senior" game and she could really be one to watch.

The progress she has been making over recent months suggest we have some very good judges in this forum, not that I doubted it

Saw Freya in Glasgow early FEB I  was impressed by her playing much higher ranked opponents not over awed at all
