just wanted to put this up again, not sure if there is already a post but it has been mentioned several times. its such a good scheme and even if there isn't anything near by its possible to get something started in your area.
a couple of weeks ago I decided to start playing tennis again so went back to the courts where I played a couple of years ago and found out they were in the Tennis for Free scheme. even though I live on the edge of Dartmoor, only 6 miles away there are free lessons once a week for 2 hours for 2 years. how brilliant is that :) so so very excited to be playing tennis again - whey hey - just want to play every day now :)
went playing tennis and met the guy who started the scheme! told him what an amazing initiative this is. he seemed genuinely pleased to hear that. also had a chat with a woman who was a british tennis player in the past who is now giving back to the sport. I got the feeling they are very keen to get youngsters playing tennis and probably working with those who show potential.

yes you're right Helen which is a bit strange really but hopefully something will get set up there. if there are free council owned tennis courts its possible to get the scheme going so maybe someone in Wales could get the ball rolling. Its something that anyone can start and get the back up too.
