Liam appears to be 5th on after 11 tommorow while Brydan is 2nd on after 11. No sign of Kyle in tomorrows OOP so assume he starts on Wednesday.

Inigo Cervantes rarely steps off a clay court, although watched him fairly convincingly beat Ed C in Wimbledon qualifying. He has had one decent run at a hard court challenger earlier this year in Turkey but it looked a fairly weak field.

Hopefully Liam kind find some fo this week, if you are going to draw a player ranked close to 100 you would want him to have gained most of his points on clay.

Fingers crossed

Very hopeful Kyle can come through his section. Other two have though draws.

Cervantes may like clay, but he's had a very good year and consistently beaten quite good players. I'd agree that he's a tough draw and would be pleasantly surprised were Mr Broady to beat him. Next rounds hard to predict, though not as nasty as some.

Should he advance, Mr Edmund's potential second round looks all right; his FQR, were he to advance that far and were seedings to hold, would be Mr Nishioka ... though that section has some interesting players, and it could well be one of the others (including Yuki Bhambri).

Mr Klein's section looks pretty wretched to me: Lajovic to start, potentially Ze Zhang next, and then a very nasty FQR with the seed Matthew Ebden and a number of other gifted players as other options.

Good luck to all!

Good luck to the boys out in NYC. Tough enough draws for Brydan and Liam, but then it's Grand Slam qualifying and if you're not seeded, you will get a tough draw anyway

Hoping that one or both of them can spring a surprise, and of course that Kyle's recent form continues. It would be a really good achievement to have featured in all 4 slams this year (though I'd prefer it if he was in the MD without qualifying, I know others see going through qualifying as another stepping stone for Kyle's development)

If any of the qualifiers can reach the MD (and Edmond and Konta both should, and it's not unrealistic for the others to hope for) we'll have more players in the main draw than we have for years. I only checked back as far as 1996, but we've not had more than 5 in all that time.

Admittedly we have adopted a few players and thats fine but I feel UK tennis is much more interesting this year than last. Undoubtedly andy being fit makes a big difference. The US open is a pretty good marker of how it is warts and all.

No wildcards for our boys and girls. Should be fun and wish them all well.

I too wish Kyle was in the main draw unfortunately although he has had a cracking year it wasn't quite good enough to get him in, he's got to earn the right to play with the big boys and the cold reality is if you don't they will just spank you. He's beginning to walk the walk at Challenger level I just feel a little patience is required as he gains experience and continues to develop into a grand slam regular. In that respect being in qualifying is no bad thing.

I seem to recall, Oakland, that you opined that last year could hardly have gone better for the British men  I disagreed given that that seemed to exclude things that err hadn't gone well.

You do really "sell" British tennis and its players. While most of us are big British tennis supporters ( and do hardly deal evenly on all matters eg  like most I will much more highlight players rising up the rankings than falling ), I don't myself always find the hard sell absolutely appropriate for a British tennis discussion forum.

Anyway, this year there have undoubtably some good things occurring with some players and not so good with others and always plenty interest for me  In the background, there continue to be matters related to the LTA that raise question marks.

All the best in qualifying, guys.

Indi we are all entitled to an opinion, you apear to me a pint half empty type of guy. we are all made dofferently and it would be dull if we all had the same opinions and enjoy reading yours. I know the days are drawing in over the boarder and as they say "winters coming"! I do feel you may have missed the big picture

Andy Murray is the face of British Tennis

End of 2013 Andy has career threatening spinal surgery not good?
2014 inspired choice of female coach (but not without risk) "lets sack Amelie thread emerges on forum"
Recovers rehabilitates works his way back into top 10 makes London at the end of year after some trendous performances in ATP 250/500 (element of moaning thorough year, not peforming, " will never get back to his best etc" )
2015 quality performances on all surfaces rewarded by first Major ATP win on clay back to No2 in the world. " Amelie receives plaudits another first elite men's tennis coach takes maternity leave.

Mr Bendene 2014 expresses desire to become British
2015 Britain has a new number 2 in the top 100

2014 Mr Ward puts together a decent run of performances becomes first Brit to qualify for RG since Aberdeen were a force in European football
2015 manages lifetime aspiration of becoming top 100 player

2014 Kyle becomes a dominant ITF force early in the year, gets a taster of elite level tennis (much to the disgust of some folks). moves up to challenger level and establishes himself

2015 becomes a dominant force at challenger level qualifies for GS in Aus and RG, winning a thrilling first round encounter, gets his rank to a level where qualifying may be a thing of the past

liam 2014 ITF getting beaten by Mitchel Franks but decent run, nails autumn challenger

2015 not great but almost gets through qualifying at Aussie open and excels at Wimbledon

dan Evans

2014 injured

2015 comes back from 5/0 down to beat Daniel Taro as makes promising come back after being written off as likely to whither and die on tread mill

2014 Davis cup not bad

2015 Better
