Lisa Whybourn on her return from injury - is it her last chance?

Hi,

I caught up with Lisa and had a long chat ahead of her return to competition next week.

Fingers crossed for noe more injuries.

The article is in today's paper and can be seen on the website here:

I see that Lisa has a WC to the main draw at Chiswick.

It will get re-allocated, Lisa will make main draw by right.

Very glad to see the comment that she is working with an osteo to help posture. As mentioned at Sutton Tour event early this year, Lisa plays with a very tense, slightly bent over frame - it doesn't look at all comfortable and, being tall and thin, it can't be good on her body. Extra muscle is bound to be of help too.

It really sounds as though she's doing absolutely everything she possibly can - wish her ALL the best !

Tennis player - trains at Bath. Got into top 300 in world rankings, before suffering severe shoulder injuries and has been out on and off for a couple of years.. Trains with Sam Murray, who we are hoping will have another go on the pro tour

She has won three doubles titles, reached the final of $25K events and in 2009 got a WC into the Barnstaple $50K and reached the QF as a last British player standing, Heather having lost in the previous round.

Seem to recall that Lisa hit the then benchmark WR250 one week too late to get a Wimby WCM and then had a lousy draw in the qualies; and soon after her injury saga began.
Here's hoping she gets to trouble that CH again smile

Edit: Wiki says her CH 250 was achieved 6.5.13 and she won Q1 and Q2 at that Wimby 2013 before losing in Q3 to Hlavackova

Didn't she also make the FQR of Wimbledon on her debut?
