Expectations for Heather will be higher after her impressive Wimbledon, and so it's nice that she will start the US season with a draw that couldn't have been kinder - WC in R1 and the lowest seed, Cornet, in R2.

Last year Heather's form really started to drop off post Wimbledon, but I think a lot of that was down to the amount of effort she had to put in at the start of 2014 to get her ranking back up. Last year she played 44 singles matches to Wimbledon vs 33 this year so she should be much fresher for the later part of the year.

Stephanie Foretz must be the most familiar opponent to British players (unless anyone knows of a player to face a wide range of Brits more often). Records v Foretz are:

Current (10-10): Waton 3-2, Konta 2-2, Broady 2-1, Carreras 1-0, Webley-Smith 0-1, Dunne 0-1, Moore 0-1, Cavaday 1-0, Robson 1-0, Askew 0-1, Ashgar 0-1
Former/unranked (3-12): Pullin 1-1, Latimer 0-1, O'Donoghue 0-1, Keothavong 0-2, Baltacha 0-4, O'Brien 1-0, Murray 0-2, Windley 1-1

Foretz has a career 22-13 record v Brits spanning from 2000-2015 (with no matches at all in 2002-2007)

So Naomi could have the best record of all British players v Foretz with a win.

Not sure why I bothered wasting so much time researching this though...

Naomi is 3rd on court 2 after a 10am (local time) start, so she should be starting around 6PM (UK time) today.

How weird that Bally had a 0-4 record against Foretz, considering the calibre of players she could beat. (And on the flip side that Broady has a winning head-to-head).
