Week 31 - ATP 250 - Generali Open, Kitzbühel, Austria (clay)

Comments on the Hamburg thread appear to have been confirmed & his first-round draw would seem to be favourable! wink

L32:  (WC) Dennis Novak (AUT) WR 258 (CH = 239 earlier this month) vs Aljaz Bedene WR 67 (= CH)

He did! Well played Aljaz!! Foggie a bit more of a challenge though, but not a bad week for Aljaz.

In terms of his presence on the board he appears to struggle, paradoxically he gets better coverage on sky!! Just watched highlights of him loosing to Foggie.

he comes across as a clean living dedicated professional who does everything he can to optimise his talent and is probably at his peak in terms of optimising his ability, a perfect example to aspiring touring pros who don't fall into the phenom category, the only thing about him that stimulates debate was his nationality ie he used to be Slovenian, my second nation in World Cup qualification after England.

People shouldn't drink so early in a morning on an empty stomach

... though I'm a bit confused by the main draw even being out so soon. We appear to be in another time dimension.

... though I now see that the Washington one is out too

I thought there was already a thread but the search didn't find it - probably because of the Generali Open wording, I only ever use the location! I'll go back and delete my thread.

The little bit I saw (second set), Novak was a hard-hitting lad, inclined to spray errors but if the ball went in, it looked magnificent.

This tweet might explain the collapse a bit - I love Kitzbühel, one of the nicest tournaments in the year, however I might come here only for holidays and not for tennis #altitudeisakiller

Turning to be a pretty lousy week for the Brits this week.

It's great, I've got nearly all my top British singles ranking points confirmed and tabulated for next Monday, only Andy and Naomi B outstanding. Nice and tidy  no
