Whilst converting winnable into a win is the tricky bit, I have to agree.

It's nice to see 4 of our guys playing in a challenger together and all coming up against players lower ranked than themselves, 4/4 into R2 would be fantastic :)

Indeed, all four of our players are actually the higher ranked in their draws, which doesn't happen often at this level.

And in the doubles:

R1:  (4) Carsten Ball (AUS) & Brydan Klein CR 394 (233+161) vs (WC) Beck Pennington & Eric Quigley (USA/USA) UNR
R1:  Liam Broady & James Ward UNR vs Daniel Nguyen & Dennis Novikov (USA/USA) CR 765 (560+205)

Liam & Dino will have their work cut out to overcome the Yanks &, if they do, will face Ball & Klein in the QF (assuming they get the better of the WCs).... hmm

R1:  Bjorn Fratangelo & Nicolás Jarry (USA/CHI) CR 691 (498+193) vs (2) Ruben Gonzales (PHI) & Darren Walsh CR 310 (160+150)

Why doesn't James have a doubles ranking? He's won two matches at Challengers this year but then given a walkover in the next round on both occasions. I guess that means you don't get the points. Is that a new rule, presume it's designed to singles players entering then withdrawing once they lose in singles?

Really really good chance for Liam to go far this week, his quarter littered with Q's and WC's and Ito has withdrawn leaving him as the only seed.

Then looks a potentially very important R1 match in which he is likely to have to play to a pretty good level.

Nice start to the week biggrin

Here's hoping they get to meet in the singles later on (with apologies to Ed and Brydan in the top half of the draw)...
