 Well spotted - on the ITF drawsheets the players closest to each other are not the ones playing and it always confuses me.

Means the two unseeded Brits both got top 4 seeds so a pretty rough draw.

 

Worth noting that Laura's doubles partner has a doubles ranking of 692 and a singles career high of 591 so expectations should be lowered accordingly!

 I fancy Laura's chances against Osaka more than against an equivalently good player with a different gamestyle. But still, there were about 29 possible easier draws she could have got.

Good win, Lao has been in the form of her life.

Laura and partner lose the first set 7-5 from a break up. Had a lot of opportunities.

Good easy win for Naomi - only lost 8 points on serve and 3 of those were double faults

She must be confident of beating Tabakh after last week too (though Takabh has home advantage this week)
