Sadly it's time to stop supporting tournaments in countries that have had a history of terrorism
i am strongly recommending to A1 players that the following countries re avoided Egypt , Tunisia , Iran , iraq ,Pakistan , Kenya to name a few they need to learn get there houses in order if they want support from British tourists . We need to vote with our feet !

I would imagine (with the exception of Willis) that "A1" players are too busy getting knocked out of first round of British tour events to be worried about travelling to tournaments in Asia or Africa.
mostly driven by risk but I do think that Islamic countries where there has been a history of terrorism against Uk or EU citizens should be avoided . We have a right to protect our citizens wether tennis players or not and sadly Islamic States are a greater risk . Also if we walked with our feet it would put economic pressure on these countries to get their houses in order . They can't have there cake and eat .
I personally have enjoyed visiting countries in the Islamic world and Middle East although when 17 years old was temporarily arrested with a group of Brits by the PLO who considered taking us hostage
the PLO they were checking our passports looking for Israeli's Let us go after a few hours but it highlighted the risks . Consequently I have never visited Israel which I also consider a risky destination and a war zone .

I personally would prefer not to be murdered in my bed by a terrorist of any stripe, but if risk is to be completely avoided, then we must avoid all countries. (I seem to recall both London and New York having unfortunate episodes).
I think that war zones are a bad idea for visits, as are totalitarian states, but I am not sure that it is helpful to choose your holiday destination based on the religion of the locals.
(PS: Aren't there more appropriate places for this discussion then "British Men ..."?)

christ, for info, Gary seems to often choose sections to post in randomly - sort it out, mate !
I can understand some of what he says, but it is so dangerous to generalise too much as to what each individual nation is trying to do to improve things in no doubt often hugely complex sitautions.
And always remember that the terrorists seek to terrorise, to destroy "normality" such as tourists in Tunisia, indeed Brits travelling on the London underground, so isolating / leaving them "to get their houses in order" is not as straightforward as can be made out. There are of course millions of very good people in these countries of all creeds / religions, Muslims clearly included, and they too could suffer ill thought out major changes in others' behavior.
I agree with those that say avoiding particularly dangerous places seems a plan, though trouble is danger can crop up almost anywhere. And usually it is really for the individual.
More organised nation led isolation needs very careful consideration and calculation that the right folk will suffer and it is more likely to lead to positive change.

The problem with avoiding those countries is that it plays directly into the extremists' hands. They want to cause more un-employment and poverty as that will only swell their ranks. Of course players need to be happy with the security and that will probably be stepped up, but I am not sure what good it will do if everyone stops going to Sharm for example.
I am sure there were some foreigners who decided that London was unsafe after 2007. Probably more risk of driving than being killed on holiday or playing tennis.
Yep 1700 people die on the road each year, 21k serious injuries.
The Modus operandi of any terrorist organisation be they anarchists, Catholics, Jews, Arabs or Jedi knights is creating headlines that generate hysteria.
What happened in Tunisia was horrid my genuine sympathies lie with the families of those that died and They will never be able to forget. I have immense respect to those that went back to the beach the next day.
The best response is to get back to life as normal and what the British do this time of year is watch tennis.
