Peter bothwell is a promising teenager from ulster although he is part of the Irish Davis cup squad he is also British . Peter bothwell is the first Ulsterman to achieve an ATP world ranking quite an achievement coming from the smallest home nation in great Britain & NI with only 2 indoor courts and no other world rank players in the province makes his achievement more remarkable . Peter has played for A1 Pharmaceuticals in the national Aegon team tournament this year and will represent us if we reach the national finals after our play off on 18/7/2015 . Peter'a current ATP ranking is 1216

I like Peter, and his brother, and their Soto set-up, but they play for Ireland, not Britain, and so are not British as far as a British tennis forum goes.
Wish them lots of luck, though.
and this should be in the general section, he might be a bit offended you've put it in the British Women !

They are both British by nationality it's unfortunate that Northern Ireland is not part of the LTA not sure why but we should follow the bothwell brothers like we do with our recent imports from Slovenia & Australia
If you play for Ireland, and you play for the Irish Davis Cup, you are representing Ireland. Not Britain. Nothing against them at all, as I said, I follow their results. But it's not the same as our recent imports who are now playing for Britain.
And it STILL should not be in the Women's section .....

A number of sports now have all Ireland teams it's a great idea because it's all about uniting different communities /religions . Peter bothwell is British but he is also Irish I don't see why his progress should not be acknowledged & followed on this forum Lessons to be learnt by English players who often have it on a plate and don't seize the opportunities forwarded them . Peter has had to go the extra mile and travel huge distances to indoor facilities and train with suitable hitting partners . His work ethic certainly stood out !
As there's already a specific Pete Bothwell thread (with a bit of hoo-hah as to whether there should be, given he represents Ireland, not Britain, but hey...), here's a quick shout to him and the Irish Davis Cup team.
They beat Albania today, 3-0, with young Pete taking the first point and Sam Barry getting the second. Sam and David O'Hare won the doubles.
