Good luck to Helen Parish in her first ITF tournament in over 3 years - especially as she comes from just down the road from me!

I heartily second this sentiment. A wonderful testament to her resolve to just be playing at all.

Don't know Helen, but very good win for her. Salas no pushover.

Brilliant job, Helen.

Agree with TennisLover, Salas is certainly no pushover: very solid youngster.

Do hope Helen manages to recuperate well. Bravo !

Helen compiles the lists of best ever wins by British players on Steven's statistics site.

As well as the invaluable CH scalp list that Peter mentioned - so good, that I used to click to it the second the final shot if a match was complete to confirm if it was a CH, only to find that the table was already updated in that nanosecond! - Helen still maintains a website, though it's very sparse these days: http://www.helenparish.co.uk/
She used to keep an excellent blog too. I have some of those pages saved, but as she has now deleted it, I won't post them here.
It's just good to see her be able to at least give it a go again. If she still plays anything like she used to, she's a real talent.

Edit: wrong URL

Unlikely it was an injury - way more probable that it was her ME playing up, which is very difficult, I think, to manage and often leaves her absolutely empty.

Yes I would agree CD, it's an illness that needs managing, so hopefully just a reminder to maybe rein in her ambitions a tad, I mean she has done absolutely brilliantly to get as far as she has in the recovery process, as many don't even make any sort of recovery.
