As far as I can tell, Gloire hasn't played this year at all, except for League tennis (and she's lost all her matches there, against reasonable but not stellar opponents). She was very highly ranked at 16/17 but has dropped down a lot (probably not playing but doing studies)

Grace seems to be pretty much the same picture, with one decent win but that's all, this year. No great ranking.

So go for it, laidies !

Well done, Jazzamay. She had the slightly easier draw of the two.

Would be nice to see Georgina make it through as well.

But nice to see Jazzamay also capitalising on a couple of decent wins in the last few weeks in the UK - she has a neat and tidy all-round game, with good fitness - she'll have another French player in round 2 as well (very probably Estelle Guisard but might also be the sister of Georgina's opponent - you've got to love the two girls, called Victory and Glory ! smile )

Georgina should capitalise on the DFs from her opponent. Put her under more pressure with aggressive returns to force more DFs :).

Match with interesting stats. Georgina has more points won but lost 6-4 in the third set.

The French lass made 10 DFs against none for Georgina.

It's tough in the 10Ks to get a point :).
