Only 2 of the 3 yet to be announced QWC places are given in the playoffs.

Assuming 1 of the MDWC places is reserved for Laura if she wants it, who could get the other 3 places?

No, they have previously given three Q places to the play-off players - the third (or fourth...) place is discretionary.

The young Spanish star junior player has also requested a wildcard

The list explicitly says three slots from the wild card playoffs.

No Em unsurprisingly, but still disappointed theyve made the GB number four go through pre-qualifying, again.

Yes, as noted on the other thread (re the three Q slots remaining)

The interesting thing is whether they will make the two semi-finalists play off for the third spot or, as before, just award it on a discretionary basis.

NB Very glad that Em got a doubles MD WC

It seems to me that this is the absolute minimum that they could have awarded to the British women. JoKo and NaomiB pick themselves.

Extremely tough on EWS to get nothing for the singles, when she is the third in line, by ranking. Perhaps her attitude isn't right?

Other notable absentees Tara and NaomiC. Missing presumed injured KatieB, Freya and Laura.

Gabi Taylor seems to me to be an odd selection. Anna Brogan is actually making a better fist of making the transition from Juniors, as far as I can tell. Also Izzy Wallace. Maia Lumsden had a better Junior record, before Gabi's injury time-out.

Em is too old, and probably had too many QWCs to be considered under the current policy (albeit a number of those wild cards she's earnt through the play offs).

Still, shes our number 4.

Maybe it's not part of Anna/Izzy/Maia's plans at the moment??? What about Jodie Anna from yesterday's showing :)

Here's hoping Jossanna put together a good run in the dubs to set them up nicely for the next 12 months :)

Yep, very glad Em gets a dubs WCM; pretty confident she'll win through the play-offs :)

GB number 4 and relatively pretty good on grass ?!

Apart from being "too old" ( ?! ) how else has Emily annoyed the powers that be ?

I guess the play-offs give her match practice, but ....

The list on Wimbledon website says 2 from the play-off and 1 to be announced for qualifying.

Interesting it's been edited (the initial list said 3 from the play-offs). Might have been an error, might have been changed to make an allowance for, say, Tara, getting 'stuck' in Ilkley if she wins and/or the rain continues.

And on that point, given the LTA Performance Committee had decided the nominations last week (and given the AELTC were pretty much guaranteed to follow them), would it not have made sense to 'suggest' to the Tournament Referee that they schedule Tara yesterday and Gabi today?

Yes, I still have the old page up in a tab which clearly says all three from the play-offs - as you say, they've amended it. Which makes sense because having 'TBA' still allows them to do it based on the wildcard playoffs but gives them wider discretion, if they want/need it.

And, yes, presumably Tara is the big question.

Gabi seems to be 'in with the in-crowd', hence all the wildcards over the last couple of weeks, despite only just being back playing (and a very skinny ranking, all based off one result).
