Week 23 - Israel F8 ($10,000) - Tel Aviv Ramat Gan (Hard)

All three of our Brits are in the MD.

R1: Bruce Strachan WR 1317 vs (q) Dor Belfer (ISR) WR 2124 (CH = 1239 in July 2013)
R1: Joshua Paris WR 1444 vs (7) Dekel Bar (ISR) WR 726 (CH = 700 earlier this month)
R1: (5) Toby Martin WR 652 vs (q) Guy Michelevitz WR 1664 (CH = 1522 in 2012)

Not bad draws all in all. If Bruce and Joshua win, they'll meet in R2.

And Toby & Bruce team up again in the doubles:

(*) Bruce currently has no doubles ranking, but a CH of 1248 from June 2013, while Toby's WR 556.

Josh P has taken the first set 7-6(2) and is an early break up , 1*-0, against the WR top 750 player. .....

This would be an impressive scalp if he keeps this up against a player almost twice as high in the rankings. Josh is serving at *3-2.

Good lad! Here's hoping Bruce will defeat his qualifier and we'll have a certain Brit in the Quarters!

That's a good win - well in Josh. The consistent form indicates a ranking in the top 1000 should be a formality.

good win - although should've killed him off earlier in my opinion...another slow start

whats remarkable is hes won a staggering 11 tie breaks in a row! not lost one since July 2014

if he had the same attitude going into tie breaks as he did going into the start of a match the skys the limit....

I wonder what Josh's plans are - are we likely to see him play in the 15Ks on the grass in UK?

That's the 3rd time this year Toby has come back from a set down.

Toby will be facing a qualifier in the next round, either Israeli Orel Ovil or American Samuel Beren.
