Disappointing result again. I think they ought to go their separate ways now. Heard Dom is going to play with Ram when he's fit, but if that's not true then Colin/Dom would be interesting to see and may also be our DC double team (I'm not forgetting Jamie!)

It has been a rough couple of year for our doubles pairings. It was not so long ago that Colin and Ross were pressing for a place at the O2, and then the following year, Dom and Jamie (with their respective partners) were also pushing for an O2 place. Ken and Neal were on the up as Neal moved from college tennis on to the ATP tour and all things were looking rosy.
Now, perhaps as a result of illness, injury and loss of form, they all seem to be (with the exception of Jamie) going backwards.
Is it just coincidence the 2 years ago, Louis Cayer was moved from specialist doubles coach to a more general role within the LTA ?

R1: Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray CR 146 (82+64) lost to Feliciano Lopez & Max Mirnyi (ESP/BLR) CR 107 (60+46) 3-6 6-3 6-2
Disappointing though in truth that did look a tough one and the scoreline is not too bad.
Overall though, much as I'd like to see both doing well, they have rarely looked as good as one would hope as a partnership, first ( temporary ) or second time round. Generally at best been "OK".
I would suggest that if the grass court season and the US hard court season don't go well that Colin and Jonny should go their separate ways. I had no expectations for them on clay but if they can't do well over the summer they should accept that the partnership isn't the right one for either of them.
Re the thoughts about Colin & Dom, apart from indicated Dom having said that he will be playing with Rajeev Ram, I am wary of 'pushing' two Brits together when they might personally have better career alternatives.
I don't know why Colin & Jonny are playing together ( maybe mostly convenience, possibly but I think less likely thoughts of establishing a Davis Cup partnership ), but there are clearly doubts about their partnership.
